Sunday Selections ... Animals

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim or Frogspondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through Life. The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.

Over the next couple of weeks I thought I would share some of the animal shots I have taken. Some I think I have shared before, so excuse me if you've been a reader long enough to remember them.

I have no idea what this was, but I captured it on film in the Dandenongs in Victoria while waiting for the family who were on the Puffing Billy.

Running a little late today, but better late than never, I believe the saying goes.

So without further ado, I present the moon.

The Blood Moon photos taken earlier this month are my hubby's (a little blurry but given it was a cloudy night he had to click when he could.

The other full moon photos below those are mine from earlier this year.

Love a full moon.

Sunday Selections ... Textures and Colours in Nature ... Rocks

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim or Frogspondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

This might be the last in this series, I'll have to go back through my photos to see if I can find any more photos that fit into the Textures and Colours in Nature theme.

This time the subject is rocks, although in truth the Devonian Reef is an old limestone reef in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia. It covers hundreds of miles and has three national parks that shelter in its presence, Geikie Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana National Parks. As I hope the photos show, it changes colour throughout the day and throughout the length of the reef itself. Sometimes mostly dark grey, other times with splashes of brilliant orange.

Then there are some shots of the gorges in Karijini National Park in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. Beautiful maroon and orange tones scattered with spinifex green.

Towards the bottom are the greys and oranges of the South Coast national parks.

A few other bits and pieces are also thrown in, just to keep you interested.

Rocks, no, they are not boring at all, they are beautiful sculptures created by nature itself.

Sunday Selections ... Textures and Colours in Nature - Raindrops

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim or Frogspondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

I love roses, we have a few bushes in our back garden which are going crazy with the Spring weather. It's also no secret (to my family anyways) that I love The Sound of Music and one of my favourite songs, is of course, My Favourite Things.

So without further ado, I give you, straight from the song ... raindrops on roses (and a few other places too).
