Recently hubby and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary, we went to the movies and then for a drive to take some photos of the Christmas trees (Nuytsia floribunda) that were flowering in a Regional Park down near hubby's work, then we drove on and had fish and chips for tea. All in all a lovely day (off work too).
So here are my photos of the stunning Nuystia flowering after a very hot and large wild fire burnt through this section of bush last summer. You can still see the black on the tree, but it certainly didn't kill this hardy tree (which is a hemiparasitic). It's amazing the colour variance in the flowers, largely due to the length they have been out I think. As you can see, some parts are still to flower. Oh and I took all these photos from the comfort of the car, my camera has amazing zoom, while hubby climbed the fence for his shots and then wasn't happy with them. Always the way!!
Hope you enjoy, seeing these trees bursting into flower always reminds me that Christmas is not far away.
