Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim or Frogspondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.
The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through Life. The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.
Last Sunday I started with the theme of Animals and today I'm continuing with birds. Many and varied I am sure you will agree.

Love them. Some I know and love, and other which are new to me - which I also love.
ReplyDeleteThere are some rather special birds in Australia, we are really lucky with the varied nature of most, especially the parrots. Some of which are very unique and others which are much more widespread. Glad you liked them EC. xxx

DeleteI've never seen a 28 parrot before, he's quite lovely. The kookaburra is a baby and so cute. We have magpies here, lots of them, I call them all Maggie and greet them when I see them. Hello Maggie, how are you today? and I haven't been swooped on at all since I've lived here.
ReplyDeleteRiver, pretty sure our 28s and your Port Lincoln parrots are the same parrot, but with different common names. I will have to go and check my bird book to be sure. We have a swoopy magpie here at the moment, but it is nearly the end of nesting season so should be safe to walk again soon. He really doesn't like people on bikes though. Thanks for popping by xxx

DeleteI popped in and had a quick look and loved all the pics. The parrots remind me of the kea parrots in NZ but they are very destructive and will tear pieces off people's cars, surfboards etc. Thanks for sharing some more lovely photos and look forward to the pelicans next week (one of Pop's favourite birds). xx
