Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim or Frogspondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.
The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through Life. The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.
Here is the second series in my theme Textures and Colours in Nature. This one is entitled Bark. I don't know if anyone else out there is as fascinated by the textures found in bark as I seem to be, but I have so many photos of bark that I have taken over the years that it is a little worrisome. Could I be obsessed?
So without further ado, here are just a few.

I have so many more, but lucky for everyone they are not digital. Although there are some of some paperbark trees I took that I love, so I just might have to scan those and share one day.
Thanks for popping by, Happy Sunday xxx
Obsessed you might be - but you are not on your own.
ReplyDeleteI love the textures, the colours and the shapes that bark has. And the times which grow and live in its crevices.
Love this series - thank you.
Glad to know others share my obsession/passion for textures in bark. Thanks for popping by xxx
DeleteI find bark and its many textures and colours interesting too. I have taken my fair share of bark photos in the past and probably featured them on the blog somewhere.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are very lovely.
You too River, well that's good to know, maybe you can share some more again one day. I'm glad you enjoyed my photos today. Thanks for popping by xxx
DeleteThey are so lovely and so diverse as well. If I remember rightly when karri sheds its bark it is called decorticating...is that correct? I think I recall Peter Hewett telling me that. More of these please as they are so beautiful and those that are not digital.....scan and share. I can see a selection of these enlarged and framed as they are so gorgeous. The would grace any wall in any home. Thanks for sharing. xx
ReplyDeleteNow you have me there Mimsie, I'll have to check that out, but if it was Peter Hewett that told you, I'm thinking that it is right. I did have a series of these up on the walls in the short hallway before we painted and they haven't gone back up. Maybe it's time to bring them out of the storage unit. Thanks for popping by xxx
DeleteLovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, I love sharing the photos I've taken, just wish I was more able to get out and about more. Thanks for popping by xxx
