Awards Thank Yous

I have again been given the Beautiful Blogger Award. This time by Amanda at Amanda's Musings and E at Whining at the World - thank you ladies, I feel really chuffed that you thought to pass this award onto me.

So the rules for the Beautiful Blogger Award are:

1. Thank and link to the person that gave you the award.

2. Pass the award on to 7-9-15 however many bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic.

3. Contact the said blogs and let them know they have won

4. State 7 things about yourself.

So 7 things - I have done this before so it is getting harder but here goes.

1. I am now a passionate water walker

2. I love my hubby so much that sometimes my heart hurts

3. I would really really really like to retire, but my work ethic is keeping me there until I finish this mammoth project

4. I have green eyes - they were blue until I was 10ish

5. I have size 10 feet and can not for the life of me wear high heels anymore

6. Sometimes when I look in the mirror I feel like the saggy, baggy elephant - trouble is I can't grow into this skin.

7. I have 2 bad vices - coke and chocolate - I do my best to avoid them both - Easter is hard so I just eat the chocolate quickly so I can pretend I didn't have too much.

Now I am handing the awards on - some of you may already have been awarded this and if so I apologise and no need to redo the 7 things, but you may if you wish, award someone else.

Pink Patent Mary Janes, her blog is delicious, in content and style

Blessed Are The Meek, a new blog I have found, she only has 2 followers and I am sure that she would love you to pop on over for a browse.

Kristin @ Wanderlust - a new follower of mine and when I popped over to read her blog, just loved it, so if you haven't already visited - please do.

Big Brother, Little Sister - another newish (to me) blog I am following, pop over and follow the journey of Cooper and Pepper.

Kate @ Two Little Banshees - this is one crafty lady - I don't know how she finds the time to do what she does.

Cate @ I'll Think Of A Title Later - another new blog for me, and I am really enjoying popping in for a regular read.

Farmers Wife - she already has this award, but is another new find of mine that I would like to share with those of you who may not know her yet.

Sunny Side Up - Go and visit and you will see why I have passed on this award

Madmother at Meaningless Meanderings of a Madmother has also given me the You Are My Sunshine Supportive Commenter award - thanks so much Madmother for including me in this category. It is the second time it has been awarded to me and I am truly honored as I think it is such a great award. We all love comments and I really appreciate the time and effort that my regular commenters put in each and every day to spreading the love around cyberspace.

Mel at Suger Coat It created and designed this award.

I am handing it onto just a few, but really anyone who comments on my blog deserves this award.

To the ladies below, you don't need to do anything for this, but you can pass it on if you wish. If you already have it, just take this as further proof that you are a fantastic follower that any blog would love to have, I know I do. And Madmother - I really should be giving it straight back to you too.

Oh My I Got A Bloggie

How cool is this little fellow, thanks so much to Donna over at 5by40 for passing this award to me. Thank you so much for being so generous in your praise. I feel very humbled by your comments.

My acceptance speech:

WOW I didn't even know I was in the running for this cute little gold bloggie, I would like to thank my friend Jo, who while working for me happened to mention she had a blog. Before that I didn't even know they existed and so from my first tentative steps just searching around cyberspace I got inspired to start my own blog and then a 2nd one. It has been liberating to open up and let my thoughts wander around, landing I know not where. It has been eye opening, finding new blogs to follow and to connect to women I don't know face to face but who I feel like I know by reading their blogs.

I would love to thank the ladies who have taken the time to publicly follow my blog (and those of you who lurk as well), it is a nice surprise to log on one day and find a new face there.

I would also like to thank those of you who take the time to leave comments if something inspires you to do so. Comments are a bloggers life-line, they let you know that someone, somewhere has connected to what you are saying - even if it is to disagree with you.

And so if you are out there lurking - delurk, I would love to meet you. If you are out there and have only just started blogging and would like another follower - let me know, I like to share the love.

A lot of the lovely ladies who I follow have already received a bloggie and so I am choosing only 3 to bestow this award to, however, I choose to keep the right to pass this little man on to some new cyberfriends some time in the future.

Kellyansapansa - a recent find of mine, I love popping over to visit Kelly - I can't wait to see her wedding photos in 9 months time

Pink Patent Mary Janes - this lady's got class, plus she loves Johnny Depp - need I say more

Melissa at SugerCoatIt - one forthright woman - I love visiting to see what she is up to

Thanks once again Donna - you have been an inspiration to me from the start. xxx

Another Blog Award

Kellyansapansa has passed the Beautiful Blogger Award my way - thanks so much Kelly. So I need to list 7 interesting facts about me - getting harder given my recent lists but here goes.

1. I love butterflies, wombats and pelicans - seeing any of these creatures in real life soothes my soul. I love that butterflies are so fragile and yet they fly in all sorts of weather, plus they are so pretty to watch. I love that wombats are short and squat and determined - I somehow relate to that. I love the fact that pelicans are the most ungainly creatures on land, but to watch them fly, to see them soar on the thermals gives me hope that I too can reach whatever goals I set.

2. I want to have straight hair, but am too chicken to have it done in case I don't like it and it takes forever to get curly again.

3. I love the full moon, when there is a full moon I open the blinds so if I wake up I will be bathed in moonlight.

4. Mosquitoes love to bite me - they will do so even if I am sitting on top of a citronella candle and have been know to bite me through my clothes!

5. I am an introvert who has learned to cope in the world by being extroverted - but then run home and hide in my own space.

6. I love driving with the wind in my hair - probably already told you that one, but I LOVE it.

7. I have a favourite colour, want to guess what it is? I will tell you in photos by the end of this week - so stay tuned.

Now I am supposed to pass this on to 7 other bloggers but rather than do that I am going to pass it on to all of you how take the time to visit and comment. If you are lurking out there, delurk and let me know so I can visit you - as I bet you are a beautiful blogger too.

Blog Award

Melissa over at at The Things I'd Tell You passed this award onto me - Thanks Melissa.

I have to list 10 things that you would not know about me (although most of the people who read my blog are my family so this will probably not be news to them) so here goes:

1. I hate cockroaches but I love snakes, not a big fan of spiders but they don't freak me out like cockroaches do.

2. My favourite TV shows are SciFi - Dr Who, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate and all of the Star Treks but especially Next Gen and Voyager, or vampire based Buffy, Angel and Moonlight or horror crimes - Bones, Criminal Minds. Don't like sweet stuff like Packed to the Rafters.

3. I love reading horror stories by Dean Koontz and Stephen King - but I can not watch horror movies as they scare me to death - go figure.

4. I have a phobia about being bitten by a shark - I can not swim in the ocean because of this phobia - I even struggle if fishing from a boat - Jaws (even the book) scared the crap out of me (ironically it was the first movie my hubby took me to see when we started dating - I sent most of the night with my hand over my eyes). I can look at them on TV and in the aquariums but I can not swim in the ocean for fear of being bitten - I know weird.

5. I am scared of the dark - yep even now - especially if we are in the country with no street lights - absolutely terrifies me (probably because of the horror books I love).

6. When I am blue I need to shop - I normally don't like shopping but retail therapy - especially big purchases like lounge suites or furniture make me happy - hence my hubby is really happy that I don't get blue too often.

7. I can't wear perfume, even sitting next to someone with perfume gives me a headache - I used to be able to wear it, but over the last 20 years my allergies have gotten a lot worse - it is the one thing I miss.

8. I have a fear of dentists - an incident when I was young has never left me - even as an adult I can not put that fear away and I need to learn how to - maybe hypnotherapy.

9. I am a hoarder and my house is always a mess. I pile things on flat surfaces. It is just me - I would rather be doing other things than housework, hence I panic when people are coming over. The dishes are always done and stuff like that, but books, papers, DVDs, boxes - just stuff is everywhere.

10. I have overactive tear ducts (well that is my excuse) - I cry at the drop of a hat - TV commercials, news stories, when I am angry, don't ask me to give a speech at a wedding/birthday etc - for then there will be sobbing - it is so embarrassing.

Now I have to nominate some bloggers to pass this award on to, which is hard as I don't follow a large number of blogs and most of them have already won awards recently but here are a few:

So back at Melissa - but she doesn't have to do it again - Melissa has opened the world of blogging to me as I find new blogs all the time from hers.

Then there is Madmother - but she has also been nominated by Melissa (lol) - really love a daily dose of Madmother

There is Amanda at Amanda's Musing - a beautiful young Mum who I have known since her teens

Christie at Childhood 101 - my eldest daughter's award winning blog, I am so proud of her.

Robin at Visbal Family - this family is doing it tough, but I love Robin's honesty

Alliecat at A Beautiful Pea Green Boat - I am new to Allie's blog but loving what I am finding there - oh and she has just won the Honest Scrap Blog Award so pop on over and read 10 things about her too (hey Allie you don't have to blog again unless you choose too)

Donna aka as the 70s Housewife - Donna was one of the first blogs I found, she went missing for a while through a hacker - so glad she is back - you can find her at 5by40

And last but by no means least Down To Earth - the Aussie blog about all things green, organic and healthy including how to bake beautiful bread from scratch - lots of great things.
